What it is
L-Arginine is a semi-essential conditionally required amino acid involved in protein synthesis, urea cycle ammonia detoxification, and immune modulation. Most importantly, l-arginine serves as the sole direct substrate for endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) to generate nitric oxide (NO), a vital signaling molecule that relaxes vascular smooth muscle. Supplementation promotes vasodilation, optimal blood flow, arterial flexibility, exercise hyperemia, and reproductive organ perfusion in both men and women.

Safety & who should check first
Generally safe up to 9 g/day. Mild GI upset or loose stools may occur at high single boluses (>6 g). Caution in individuals with herpes simplex or severe hypotension.
